How it all started...
Pastor Joel Madlang-awa came to Cambodia together with his family in the year of 2001. Together with his wife, Maribel, their kids, Joel II, Mili, and Milcah, the Lord led them to the city of Siem Reap. The ministry started by reaching locals and some filipinos at the city of Siem Reap. At that time, there were only two Baptist churches here. They reached people by offering free English classes and preaching the gospel to them.

Expanding the vision...
Through the Independent Baptist Church of Siem Reap, there were 3 other works that were started. They have sent out 2 pastors to the Philippines and one in Cambodia.
In addition to that, the church conducts village outreaches where they are able to reach locals and preach the gospel to them. Through that, they are able to train locals to get ready for the ministry and to reach their own people with the Gospel.

Where we are headed...
The church prays that the Lord will continue to enable them to train men and women to reach the people of Cambodia with the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is done through preaching the gospel to the locals and wisdom in identifying individuals who got saved and have a burden for the lost.
It is their prayer that the Lord will continue to open doors to training locals in a larger scale. Nothing is impossible with God!
